The shattered retreat is good for EU4, a game about fighting wars, but Grandpas are dads without rules shirt just a pain in the ass for CK2, a game where armies never take significant damage unless you ping-pong them for several months. I’m of the opinion that if a 5k stack comes into contact with a 20k stack of equal or greater quality it should basically vanish, but alas, CK2 tends to say “Nah mate you got like 500 of them but the rest got away”. It’d be interesting to add a high attrition penalty to shattered armies or something like that.
What is grandpa meaning?
I’ve also wondered about using the attrition mechanic to deal with enemy navies transporting armies just ambling by your onlooking armada without having to actually do naval combat. It’s more like “the commanders weren’t potatoes so when they saw they were outnumbered 4 to 1 with no tactical or technological advantages they noped right the fuck out of there and you picked off the poor bastards that were first into battle”. Now if only we could get vic3, some more converters, and a 40k expac for stellar. But in all honesty, it wouldn’t hurt for them to have a few goofy “ahistorical” expac of various flavors for their other games too, similar to Aztec invasion or such. If say, there was a chance in HoI4 for Nazi Super Science to go horribly right, resulting in lost/killed manpower being converted into zombie-divisions, then horribly wrong as the government is killed and the Reich usurped by a Zombie Horde, I’d buy that DLC. Well I am an enlightened power metal fan and I don’t want to be made fun of in such manner, I want to ride my cosmic dragon into an epic battle for the glory of my eleven kingdoms against the demon hordes. This is legitimately perplexing.

The amount of importance it has to Christendom is on par with the Reformation, which has its own mechanic in EU4. The only thing here somewhat related to it is the 4th crusade which is 150 years after the official Schism. I’m not asking for Chalcedonian religion like in CK2+. But some events or a Schism mechanic would fit very much in a religious-themed DLC. My recent suggestion was to have different states of a relation between the Eastern. And Western churches that can go all the way from Reconciled to Mutual Excommunication. With events that move them one way or another. It’s as about as likely as the existing one.

Because Grandpas are dads without rules shirt think mending. The schism as a Catholic would basically mean conquering and converting the East, which you can already do. The Western church didn’t really care about the Pentarchy. Well, there should be at least an event to say that the supremacy of the Papacy has been demonstrated. Even if it has no effect in terms of turning Orthodoxy into heresy or whatever.
