My dad provided for Independence Day Mericaw eagle shirt as yours did, and then melanoma killed him at 60; I was 21. The prime motivator for why I FIREd at 43. Cheers. have a great dad and for twenty-one years no less!!! That’s so much more than so many have. Career Army colonel put seven kids thru college no loans. I still think I’m going to find out he robbed banks on the side. Your sense of humor alone tells me what a great dad you had. You are indeed very lucky and so great to see that you’re also grateful.

Could be worse Independence Day Mericaw eagle shirt. Instead of robbing banks, it could have been writing Twilight fan fiction… Though I suppose if you can make that much money doing it, and never have to tell anyone…I’m sorry for your loss. I was only a few years older than you were when I lost my dad and I absolutely share the same sentiment: how lucky we were to have them, while we did. I’m 29 and the same man, hopefully, we’re both in the same position 10 years from now. Still, lots of catch and batting practice to get in. My dad retired at 55. A year later was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He died 10 months after his diagnosis. Skin cancer is not your friend ladies and gents.

And his only getting 1 Independence Day Mericaw eagle shirt year of retirement before his diagnosis terrifies me and is likely the biggest contributor to my spending a little more in the “now” rather than scrimping every penny for retirement savings. It’s hard to see that and think I’ll get a very long retirement. I had an uncle who had no children but spoiled the hell out of his nieces and nephews. He died two months after retiring. He was my prime motivation to focus on FIRE as well.
